[Top 10 Internet challenge] Special effects in movies

I’m back with another “Top 10 Internet Challenge”. This time, I’ll be talking about 10 movies that have blessed with some of the best special effects in the history of cinema! It doesn’t mean that these films are just made for their graphics… they can also have an excellent plotline, amazing actors and a great director… or they can be all about the looks. The only thing I’ll be analyzing is the way they look and “move”. So, without other introductions, I present my “Top 10 internet challenge” about “special effects in movies” :

10) Star Wars [1977] – Very advanced for its time, great graphics on the battleships and awesome light saber fights.

9) Forbidden Planet [1956] - The imense inside powerpants, the shape of The Id once he hits the electric fence, the stairs bending to the weight of an invisible enemy, the door melting, the fight scenes, all pretty advances effects for that decade…

8) Cloverfield [2008] – Giving the illusion of being filmed with a personal amateur-like camera made adding special effects to this movie all that difficult…

7) 2012 [2009] – I think we could all agree that this movie is hot and heavy on computer generated graphics! Also, the scenes that involve destruction are massive and lengthy.

6) The Hobbit [2012] - Clean, real-life, grewsome looking characters, elaborate fight scenes and amazing settings.

5) Priest [2011] - Taking vampires to the next level, “Priest” presents a Dune-like alternate reality where vampires are mindless monsters who evolved separately from humans!

4) 300 [2006] – From its dark setting, the Spartan warriors, all the way to vast and diverse armies of Persia and ESPECIALLY the numerous slow motion scenes, “300″ has earned a place in, I believe, every movie-viewer’s list!

3) The Avengers [2012] - The superheroes, the advanced technology, the fight scenes, the thorough destruction of the city… almost everything is worthy of great praise!

2) Thor [2011] – The kingdom of Asgard has never looked better than in the movie “Thor”… and so do the costumes and fight scenes!

1) Prometheus [2012] - The Gigger inspired artwork, the dark shades, the spaceship, the holographs… everyting looks brilliant!

Well, this is my top 10 list… Hope you like it! In the end, I shall send it to the following:

  1. priest cred ca a fost cel mai slab din lista.

    1. Mulţumesc pentru comentariu! Filmul are câteva lacune…

  2. [...] Cinefilia : Marian, Georgiana, Adina, Teo, Piratul Cinefil, Jovi, Cronicile Ancutei, Fructitza, Angela, Daniel Urda (despre un film care m-a incantat, candva), Radu [...]

  3. Uaaa, foarte fain topul tau!
